La Mom Kitchen is truly a hidden gem! I usually order carryout from another Asian restaurant nearby, but my daughter and I decided to try something different—and I’m so glad we did. Our hostess was welcoming and attentive, and every dish arrived fresh and piping hot. We ordered from the vegetarian menu: vegetable Lo mein and General Tso’s tofu. Coming from New York and the East Coast, I have missed that familiar, authentic Lo Mein flavor. The moment my plate arrived and I smelled it, it brought back memories—and the taste did not disappoint. The tofu was delicious as well. We also tried the crab rangoons, which were larger and different from any I’ve had before. They arrived hot, crispy, and absolutely delicious. My only suggestion would be to make the dining area feel warmer and more intimate. The space currently feels a little open and sparse, so a few additional tables and chairs, Asian-inspired divider screens, wall art, and large green plants—especially near the hostess stand and menu area—would create a more inviting atmosphere. The food and service were excellent. Don’t let the simple appearance fool you—this restaurant is a hidden jewel, and it is definitely on my list

We visited La Mom Kitchen in downtown Naperville and tried all the vegetarian options on the menu. Overall, the experience was average. The food looked promising, but the flavors felt incomplete — almost every dish seemed like it was missing something to bring it together. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing really stood out either. The service was also quite slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. The staff was polite, but the wait times for both ordering and receiving the food were longer than expected. There’s definitely potential here, especially with the variety of vegetarian choices, but the execution and flavor balance could use improvement.

Beautiful place with rare, authentic & aromatic Shanghai cuisine , super yummy ! Also loved their Whisky Sour & Lychee Martini!!

Been a fan since their original location in Chinatown many years ago. They went away for some time and now they are back with multiple locations - including La Grange and Chicago. Not a whole lot has changed including the original owner, which says a lot about its originality. Food is still good and servers are attentive as well. There's plenty on the menu and we will be back to try them out!

Very good food. We came to this restaurant for the soup dumplings, which we enjoyed (some reviewers seem to be more critical wanting, but for us they were just fine - definitely not too thick which would be an issue for me). The pork rib entree was recommended, and we are glad we ordered them. They are not spicy but heavily spiced including cumin. They were a nice surprise and paired well with the bokchoy dish. The portions are quite good, easy to share. The staff were very helpful, and the food came out pretty quickly. I’d recommend this place to others.
